Matthew Wayne Roberds, 47, of Ward, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born October 7, 1977, in Morrilton, Arkansas to Donald Wayne Roberds and Brenda (Workman) Roberds. Matt was a United States Army veteran, a driver and Fleet Manager for Maverick Trucking, a member of the Combat Vets Association and a member of the Patriot Guard. He loved riding his motorcycle and seeing new places. He loved being in the Army Reserves and serving with his brothers as a Combat Engineer in the 489th Engineering Battalion and 688th Engineering Company. Matt served two tours in Iraq: Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, where he received many medals of honor. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant after 14 years of service. Matt was preceded in death by his father and brother, Mark Roberds.
Matt is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Findley) Roberds; son, Garrett (Patricia) Roberds; his mother, Brenda Brickley and stepfather, Kelly; brother, Brad Roberds; two grandchildren, Georgia Mae Carey Roberds and Naveen Carter, as well as several nieces and nephews and his fur baby, Sydney.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816. Interment will be 12:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2025 at the funeral home. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Matt Roberds, the family suggests Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
