Matthew Jon Shanley, 51, Appleton, WI passed away unexpectedly in his sleep from complications of diabetes on June 25, 2025.

Matt was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 5, 1974 to Brian Shanley and Margaret Kilroy, both of whom preceded him in death.

Matt obtained his HSED from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, something he was very proud of. He was a very hard worker, working his way up to a restaurant general manager position at Taco Bell. He was currently a team leader at Burger King. He was an avid Packer fan. Matt was a gamer. He had a lifelong love for D&D roleplaying. He also enjoyed board games, card games, video games and any other kind of game there is in his free time. He loved spending time with his family, camping, sci-fi, music and movies. He had a love of history and a hunger to learn new things. He was always watching something on YouTube that would teach him something new.

Matt is survived by his 4 daughters Maranda Lafrombois, Kayanna (Justin) Reese, Ahlaja Shanley and Imoen Shanley, as well as Randi Fritz and Cody Alsteen who he loved and played a role in raising. He is also survived by his sisters Colleen Shanley and Rachael (Dan) Clyde, 6 grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew and many friends, coworkers and his lifelong best friend Jon Piechowski and the mothers of his children, Kim Bolden, Pamela Kruger and Kristie Alsteen.
