Matthew Marshall Skaff

Matthew Skaff passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by family. He was born on March 25, 1959, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Mitchel and Lucille Skaff. Matthew was a loving father, a hard worker, and someone who embraced every day with enthusiasm.

Matthew graduated from Bishop Kenny High School and received an associate degree from Florida State College. He worked in sales and trucking throughout his career, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

Matthew is survived by his four children: Alexandria Schwartz (Ryan), Chase Skaff, Mitchel Skaff (Connor), and Julianne Skaff (Chase); stepson, Austin Glaze; his three beautiful grandchildren; siblings: Moses Skaff (Susan), Mitchel Skaff (Kim), and Melissa Schultz (Steve); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchel and Lucille Skaff.

Matthew was kind, respectful, and never met a stranger. He had a warm smile, a quick wit, and a natural charm that drew people to him. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, playing his guitar, and spending countless hours behind the wheel of his truck, flying down the highway. Over the course of his trucking career, he traveled through 48 states and parts of Canada, collecting stories and friendships wherever the road took him.

He had a true gift for sales and conversation and could make anyone feel at ease. Matthew had a way of turning a simple interaction into a lasting connection.

Above all else, Matthew cherished time with his family, especially his children. He loved cooking and grilling for them, sharing laughter and his spirited stories, and creating memories on family vacations that will be treasured forever.

Matthew will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

To honor Matthew a memorial gathering will be held on January 30, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
