Matthew "Matt" Sousa and Jason "Jbug" Sousa passed away in Cazadero, California on December 19, 2022. Both Matthew and Jason were born in Santa Rosa, California. Matthew was thirty-two years old and Jason was seven years old.
Matthew attended St. Rose School, was a graduate of Montgomery High School and was manager of the Vehicle Maintenance and Facilities at West County Transportation for seven years. He was an avid hunter, loved coaching his sons' CYO basketball team and going on camping adventures. He was a dedicated husband and father who was proud of his Portuguese heritage. Becoming a parent at the age of 19, with his wife Kendra, was a significant experience for Matthew. This changed his life for the better. He knew he had to grow up and they grew together as a family. He was a true family man and he and Kendra created a beautiful family with three boys.
Jason was a student in the First Grade at Marguerite Hahn Elementary School. Jason was always up for an adventure. From the day he was born, he had the most beautiful blonde curly locks and the most beautiful smile. He loved sports and being athletic, basketball was his favorite. Jason was a mama's boy and his brothers were his best friends. His smiles and hugs were the best! He was strong and silent, always wanting to help and protect others.
Matthew and Jason both shared a love for food, any and all food! They always wanted everyone to have a good time, laughing and smiling and eating good food! Neither of them ever wanted the party to end. Our hope is that everyone will remember them in this way.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Rose Catholic Church Parish Hall, 398 Tenth Street, Santa Rosa. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, https://gofund.me/26d5f269.
