Matthew Tyler Street Whitaker, age 29, passed away on September 5, 2025. Born on October 29, 1995, Matthew brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He had a heart as big as his smile and a deep love for his family. He especially cherished his nieces and nephews, who were the light of his life. Always patient, kind, and good with his hands, Matthew could fix or build just about anything. He found peace in the simple things—especially when he was out fishing, where he felt most at home and close to nature.
He is survived by his father, Donnie Whitaker; brother, Ryan Whitaker (Jennifer); sisters, Tina Hunt (Dwayne) and Laura Yancey (Alex); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberley Street; maternal grandparents, Donnie and Mary Street; and paternal grandparents, Nellie and Lee Whitaker.
Matthew will be remembered for his generous spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering love for his family. Though his time here was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
