Matthew Joel Williams, 65, of Houston, passed away on December 19. He was born on April 26,1960, in
Dallas, Texas to Loyd Williams and Barbara Slaton Williams.
He is survived by his son, Jared Williams and partner, Tristan Thompson; his daughter, Madelyn Eudy and husband, Bryce Eudy; his grandchildren, Alexa Williams, Colt Eudy, Poppy Williams, and Beau Eudy; his former wife, Dana Williams; his sister, Cathy Williams; his sister, Caroline Lawson and husband, Rodger Lawson; his brother, Mark Williams; his nieces, Jennifer Blasingame, Aimee Blasingame, and Jessica Lawson Saunders; his nephew, Reese Lawson and many other beloved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Williams and Barbara Slaton Williams, and sister, Phoebe Rhea Williams.
Matthew graduated from Cy Fair High School in 1979, where he was an athletic standout, excelling in both football and track and earning a reputation as a true competitor and teammate. He later attended Sam Houston State University for a short time.
Matthew was a hardworking man that owned and operated his own HVAC business for more than 40 years, taking great pride in his work and reputation.
Outside of work, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends. Matthew married Dana in 1983 and they shared 27 years together. Though they were separated, they continued to remain friends and were proud parents of Jared and Madelyn.
Nature was where Matthew felt most at peace. He enjoyed his time outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. Known as a natural joker and storyteller, Matthew had an unmatched ability to make others laugh and feel at ease. He had a passion for cooking and trying new foods, always eager to share a meal or discover a new restaurant.
Above all, Matthew was a giver - quick to help anyone in need, generous with his time and heart, and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, December 28th, from 3pm to 6pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W Main Street,
Tomball, Texas 77375. Funeral Services will be held at Klein Funeral Home on Monday, December 29th at 10am with Mason Young officiating. Burial service to follow at Perry Cemetery, 13214 E Cypress Forest Dr,
Houston, TX 77070.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Gaddis, Drew Bermudez, JC Simpson, Clay Young, Kirk Kotylo, Reese Lawson, Darryl England, and Gary Hoffman.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Texas School for the Deaf.
