Ladelle Dukes was born on April 23, 1932 in Bremond, Texas, to Earnest Floyd and Lucile Caskey. She was the oldest of five children. She married Arvil McCarley and they had two children, Ruth and Gary McCarley. They later divorced. She met and married Charles Dukes. They had one son Mark Dukes. Charles passed away and she remained a widow for the next 49 years.
Ladelle made memories to last a lifetime with family, extended family and friends. She attended their birthdays, weddings, baby showers, graduations, school and sports events. She stayed busy traveling with friends and family. She joined a square dance club with her son Gary and his family and was active in that for many years. She later took up bingo with a circle of friends that she enjoyed for quite a long time. She spent much of her life with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was known as Grandma Dukes and Aunt Delle.
Ladelle was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles Reed Dukes and her son Gary Michael McCarley. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Tipton and Husband Charles "Mike" Tipton Sr. of Santa Fe, Texas; son Mark Allen Dukes and wife, Debra Dukes of Peoria, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Becky McCarley of New Caney, Texas; grandchildren, Cynthia Best of El Mirage, Arizona; Amanda Schoellkopf of League City, Texas; Michelle Leal of Cleveland, Texas; Patricia Crayton and husband David of Houston, Texas; Charles M. Tipton Jr. (Chuck) of St. Martinville, Louisiana; Brian Tipton and wife Stacy of Montgomery, Texas; Sister Geneva Towns of Klein, Texas; fourteen great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
