A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery, located at 3852 Woodlawn St., Sharon, SC 29742. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Born in York County on June 3, 1931, Mattie Ruth was the daughter of the late Charles Saye Warmoth, Sr and Ocey Marie Brakefield Warmoth. She was the wife of the late Donald Hood "Dick" Shillinglaw and a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church.
Mattie Ruth is survived by her sons Dean Shillinglaw (Sadie) and Jimmy Shillinglaw (Lisa); her grandchildren, Anna (Rob), Troy (Stacy), Todd (Tiffany), and her great grandchildren, Olivia (Brandon), Rylan, Ashlyn and Bryson.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Gene Shillinglaw and her siblings, Saye Elizabeth Warmoth, Margaret W. Parks, Charles Saye Warmoth, Jr., James Aubrey Warmoth and Overton Eugene Warmoth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, 3852 Woodlawn St., Sharon, SC 29742
