Mattie Louise Smith, also lovingly known as "Weesie" was the first-born child to Charlie and Mary C. Smith. She was born in Newton Kansas in the wintry month of December 1962.

She was big Sister to Cathy Marie, Irma Loraine and Eric Charles Smith. We adored her and believed EVERYTHING she told us. She was attentive, caring and a little naughty at times. Ask one of us about grasshopper legs, according to Mattie, if eaten, they would make you big and strong. However, she never ate any.

Mattie attended primary through high school in Newton Kansas, along with attending Emporia State University in Emporia Kansas, before making her way to Louisiana. She loved the time she spent with her Grandparents before moving on to Texas.

She was a Brownie at the Girl Scouts House, worked at A&W root beer, and Dillons as a cashier in her early workdays.

Later in her work career, she enjoyed the Customer Service Industry, usually in a management position, because in case you didn't know, Mattie was the Boss! Always ready to help in any way she could to make everyone's situation better, for the customer and employee.

Mattie loved everything fashion. Always ready to shop, and boy did she! She truly was the original fashion police; she would let you know if what you had on was working for you or not…But always in the sweetest way.

She loved spending time with her Family, friends and spoiling her Nieces and Nephews. Music, concerts, girl's night out, trying out the latest restaurants, etc. Mattie also loved cooking. She was a fantastic cook, seasoned everything with a little spice and a lot of Love.

Traveling, whether near or far was her favorite thing to do. So, working for VTG Vacations To Go was the perfect place for her to land for work. She enjoyed taking cruises and managing her team.

These past few months as we all know, were particularly hard on her. During her decline health wise, she still put on a brave face. We the family would like to personally thank all that saw her struggle, and made her day in whatever way, a little better.

To sum is all up, because I could go on and on, if you were blessed enough to have known Mattie you know how much she will be missed. I know for us, her family, our days will be less bright, and the silence due to her absence is almost unbearable. We will miss her every day.

Preceding her in Death are her Parents, Father Charlie Smith and Mother Mary C. Smith.

Mattie Leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, Sister's Cathy and Loraine, Brother Eric. Neice's: Shaylan, Desi and Seaven. Great Neice's: Avarie, Brookelle, Aurora, Lilah, Adalynn, Estella and Jazani. Nephew's: Gavin, Jayden, Micah, Marcus. Great Nephew's: Ryland, Sir and Axel.
