Mattie Mae Powell Watson was born September 21, 1952, in Ouachita County, Camden, Arkansas to Isaiah Powell Sr. And Mattie B. Powell (Mama B). On August 8, 2025, Matt departed this life to be with the Jesus.

She accepted Christ at an early age and loved to attend church. She was currently a member at Crossroads Church of God in Christ
(COGIC) where she served on the Mother Board.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Mattie B. Powell and Isaiah Powell, Sr., siblings: Athon Jewell Powell, Ellen Jewell Lee, Willie Lee Morehead, Philip Powell, Edward Morehead, Velma Morehead, Nathaniel Powell, Joe Louis Morehead, Isaiah Powell, Jr. niece Jean Powell
Davis.

She leaves her loving brothers: Jimmie Lee Powell, Johnnie Lee Powell, Calvin Powell, Stanley W. Powell,
sisters: Marilyn Powell, Carolyn Powell Pope, and Edith Cornelius.

She leaves to cherish memories, her children, John Powell (Rashavnda), Angela Purifoy (Travis), Mary Haynie (Johnathan),
stepson Dwayne Mart, grandchildren: Shanita Powell, John Powell Jr., Kevon Manning, King Powell, Jayceion Powell, Jordan, Damaria,
Dashawnda , Darquale Purifoy, Eli Purifoy, Janiyah Haynie, Janasia Haynie, Jonathan Haynie, Jr., niece/grandchild Macasha, her great
grandchildren: LaBella Johnson, Braxton Buford, Daxton Purifoy Mattie was a very strong and loving woman, mother, sister, friend, aunt and grandma. She enjoyed going to church, singing, and had a beautiful smile, she would always say "Everything going be alright boo".
