Maureen Culleeney Obituary
Visitation for Maureen A. Culleeney, 71, will be Friday, Aug. 22, from 4pm -8pm at Michaels Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg.
Prayers held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10:30am at the funeral home before Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at Holy Archangels Parish, St. Hubert Campus, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates. Entombment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Born January 17, 1954, in Berwyn, IL, to the late Robert P. and Marlene Culleeney (nee Paul), she peacefully passed away in her home on August 13, 2025, in Elk Grove Village.
A lifelong learner and excellent dedicated educator, Maureen earned multiple advanced degrees including her Ph.D. and went on to share her knowledge and passion with generations of students as a professor at Lewis University. Her impact in the classroom was matched only by her deep devotion to her family, whom she loved fiercely and without condition.
Loving sister of Kathleen Culleeney; beloved friend of Tunya Ellis and many others; dear cousin, dear friend, and dear neighbor to many. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
