Dover-Foxcroft - Maureen "Reene" M. Doore, 72, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, in Dover-Foxcroft, surrounded by her loved ones and is now in heaven with her Savior Jesus. She was born on February 25, 1953, in Dover-Foxcroft, to Joseph L.A. and Marion (McElvery) Morin. Maureen had fond memories of her childhood growing up on Oak Street in Guilford.
She met the love of her life, Keith Doore, in high school and in June of 1973 they were married. Keith and Maureen had two children, Erin and Joseph. They enjoyed snowmobiling and summers spent at Whetstone Pond at the family camp that her parents built. Maureen was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and for nearly 40 years refused to give up and persevered despite the challenges the disease presented. Maureen had a variety of occupations over the years, but one of her favorite positions was manager of the Bangor House. She would excitedly tell you about the time she got to have lunch with her father and former Vice President George H.W. Bush while working there.
Maureen was an avid volunteer: early on she participated in various groups such as the Carpo & Abaris Clubs; she volunteered in her children's schools and for the sports boosters while her son played sports at Foxcroft Academy; she spent time volunteering for the Republican Party; and she volunteered for many years at Mayo Regional Hospital. Maureen loved the PRYMCA where she could swim, volunteer and enjoy a place to socialize. Maureen was also a faithful member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Conner-Trafton Post.
She loved the excitement of Bingo, drinking Pepsi, and enjoying favorite foods like pizza and dessert. She also made the best cranberry muffins for many to enjoy. For years, Maureen enjoyed girls' weekends shopping in North Conway with family. Maureen, known as Nana, adored her grandchildren. For years she spent Saturday mornings bringing donuts and playing board games with them. She was so proud of all of their accomplishments and treasured time spent in their company!
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Keith Doore; her daughter, Erin Bridges and her husband, David; her son, Joseph and his wife, Aquila; her treasured grandchildren, Samuel Bridges, Gretta Doore, and Sarah Bridges; her dear sisters, Kathleen Gallagher and husband, Larry, and Rochelle Titcomb; special nephew and niece, Chuck Titcomb and Julie Mullins; and many other special family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph L.A. and Marion Morin; her stepmother, Barbara Morin; and her brother-in-law, Chuck Titcomb.
The family would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of Maureen's life at Calvary Chapel Maine Highlands, 48 Morton Ave, Dover-Foxcroft, on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 PM. In honor of Nana, hug your grandchildren, and spend time with your family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen's memory can be made to Hibbard Nursing Home's activity fund (Please note "In memory of Maureen Doore" in the check memo). Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
