Maureen Hanley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roan Family Funeral Home of Epsom - Still Oaks Chapel on Dec. 29, 2025.
CENTER BARNSTEAD - Maureen V. Hanley, aged 72, of Center Barnstead, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Born on August 3, 1953, in Weymouth, MA, the daughter of Francis and Virginia (Walsh) O'Neil, Maureen was a vibrant woman known for her strength and resilience.

Maureen dedicated many years of her life to serving her community as a postal worker in Boston and Quincy. Her commitment and dedication to her work were as equal to the love and care she put into her daily life. She was known for her love of food and cooking, often using her culinary skills to bring joy to those around her. Despite her retirement, Maureen remained active on Facebook and was passionate about staying connected with her friends and loved ones. Maureen was a "tough cookie," a fighter, yet she loved hard, treating many of her daughter Kristen's friends like they were her own daughters, a testament to her nurturing spirit and her capacity for love.

In addition to her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Paul Hanley; son, Paul Hanley and her sister, Eileen Shunamon.

Maureen is survived by her daughter, Kristen Dawyskiba (Steven); son, Sean Hanley; grandsons, Jake Szecskas (Michelle) and Alan Hanley (Kailey); great-grandchildren, Brianna, Paul and Callie Hanley; great-granddaughter, Emersyn Szecskas; brothers, Mike and Mark O'Neil and extended family members, Erin and Michael Lightman, Alex and Ryan Murphy.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Maureen at a later date. The Roan Family Funeral - Still Oaks Chapel in Epsom is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com

Sorry to Mark, Mike and Kristen. I worked with your sister and mom in the post office years ago, and attended Maureen's retirement party. I knew the whole O'Neil family from Weymouth, sorry about Eileen's passing. Prayers to the family. Maryann Gardner
