Maureen (Marmaud) Kelleher, formerly of Roxbury, Dorchester and Weymouth has passed from this life into her new heavenly life at the age of 82.
Born July 22, 1943, Maureen is preceded in death by her husband David Kelleher.
Maureen leaves behind the broken hearts of her children, Theresa Watt, Barbara Sylvester and husband Edward, Cheryl Melo and husband Tony, Darlene Maloney and husband Stephen.
She cherished her 7 grandchildren, Kristopher, Nicole and husband Matthew, Amanda, Erik, Jill, Jocelyn and Kathryn. A grandmother was not loved more than our Nana.
She was also the proud great-grandmother of 3 beautiful great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savannah and Brody.
Maureen was 1 of 7 children born to Edith and Edmund Marmaud. Her siblings held a special place in her heart, Kathleen, Diane, Elaine, Edward, as well as the late Joan and Claire. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Maureen dearly.
We are grateful for the support and friendship of Maureen’s close friend for many decades, the late Chris Piscopo and her family.
Maureen always liked having a good time with friends and family. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and was very competitive on “game nights” with family.
She loved watching the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox and was a very big Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond fan.
Some of her favorite places were Castle Island in South Boston and Tony’s Clam Shop in Quincy.
Our Mom made the best potato salad for the 4th of July celebrations, the most delicious gravy and stuffing at Thanksgiving and Christmas and her meat sauce for spaghetti was out of this world.
The greatest gift our Mom gave each of us was her calm, loving presence. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Norwell Hospice VNA for their wonderful care and guidance with our Mom. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to www.nvna.org
