Maureen Kustermann (nee' Damschroeder) was born January 9, 1946 to Harry and Hulda (nee' Rohlfing) Damschroeder. She passed away at her home in Washington, MO on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the age of 79 years.
Maureen grew up near Washington, MO and graduated from Union High School. She enjoyed a successful career at Enduro Binders in Washington for many years and completed her career at Casey's General Store in Union, MO. Maureen was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort, MO. She was baptized at the church on March 3, 1946 and confirmed at the church in 1960. Maureen was united in marriage to Robert Kustermann in September 1966 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Their marriage was blessed with two sons. Maureen was a mother-figure to many people throughout her life. She was affectionately known as a mother of two and mom to many.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Hulda Damschroeder; her former husband, Robert Kustermann; and her brother-in-law, Charlie Wahlman.
She is survived by two sons: Tim Kustermann of Washington and Todd Kustermann and wife Kelly of Washington; three grandchildren: Dakota Hopper, Elizabeth Kuhl, and Drake Kustermann (Rachel); eight great-grandchildren: Amara Hopper, Grayson Hopper, Ariana Kuhl, Carter Kuhl, Dalylah Hopper, Opal Kustermann, Karma Hopper, and Keneli Martin; one sister, Joyce Wahlman of St. Louis; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaufort with Rev. John Schoedel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation for 79-year-old Maureen Kustermann will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 10:00 AM until services begin at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
