Maureen Morrison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Jan. 21, 2026.
Maureen "Mo" Ruth Morrison, 64, of Royal Oak, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, following a courageous five-year journey with cancer.

Born on June 14, 1961, to Daniel and Sharon Morrison, Mo was raised in Livonia, Michigan, alongside her eight siblings. From an early age, she embodied strength, deep compassion, and an unwavering sense of loyalty that would define her throughout her life.

Mo was a fiercely devoted friend and family member-someone you could always count on. She had a heart of gold and an innate ability to make others feel supported, heard, and cared for. She found joy in painting and spending peaceful moments immersed in nature. For many years, Mo coached softball with Special Olympics in the metro Detroit area. Her dedication and experience were appreciated by the youth as well as their families.

For 45 years, Mo dedicated her professional life to Beaumont Hospital, serving in the communications department. She was widely known as a trusted resource and steadfast advocate, often guiding family and friends through the complexities of the healthcare system with patience, empathy, and determination.

Mo was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Sharon Morrison, and her beloved sister, Annie (Jim, still living) Wroblewski. She is survived by her closest friend and confidant, Judy Bedrava; her cherished siblings, Mark Morrison, Dennis (Mariellen) Morrison, Trisha (Mark) Rajt, Daniel Morrison, Kathleen Fannon and Shannon Morrison; her goddaughter, Bre (Jeff) Bacile; nephews Kyle (Lori) Wroblewski and Patrick (Amanda) Wroblewski, and niece Sarah (Cid) Dabaja; great-niece Hannah Wroblewski; great-nephew Jaxon Wroblewski; and many other treasured family members and dear friends.

Mo will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, resilience, and the countless lives she touched simply by being herself. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and the strength she showed every day.

Memorial services will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks E.of Woodward), Royal Oak. Loved ones are welcome to visit from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a brief service held at the close of visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mo's memory can be made to Special Olympics, 160 68th Street SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49548. Share your memories at www.sullivanfuneraldirectors.com.
