Maureen Elizabeth (Glynn) Nicholas, age 79, of Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25th. Maureen was born on March 28, 1943 in Kearny, NJ. Maureen had a penchant for antiques, refurbishing steam trunks, and going to thrift shops and garage sales hunting for that unique and special find. She enjoyed spending time with her sister and friends who shared her love of antiques. Her dry humor was enjoyed by some and feared by others, she would often compare herself to the cartoon character Maxine, and this was at times an accurate description of her demeanor. Maureen was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, and friend.
She was preceded in death by both her parents Elizabeth (Cassese) Glynn, John Glynn, and her brother Jack Glynn. She is survived by her sister Patricia (Glynn) Kelly of Franklin Lakes; her brother, Richard (Lynette) Glynn of Allentown, NJ; her son Keith (Iliana) Nicholas of Gig Harbor, WA; her daughters Christine Nauta of Medford, NJ, and Patricia (Chris) Colaneri of Hillsborough, NJ; her eight grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, and Brandon Nauta; Adam and Sarah Colaneri; Joshua, Seth, and Sara Nicholas; her nieces and nephews Brian (Flora) Kelly; Chip Glynn, Pam (Matt) Webb, Jenny (Gary) Sherman, Sharon (Pete) Sushko; and many cousins.
Maureen will be laid to rest in a private graveside ceremony at Christ the King Cemetery, 989 Huron Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ.
