Maureen Powers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and accomplished businesswoman, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on June 3, 1939, to Charles and Johanna Higgins, Maureen built a remarkable life rooted in family and achievement. She married James Powers, with whom she shared a devoted and loving partnership. Together, they raised two children, Jamie Powers and James Powers Jr. Maureen also welcomed her daughter-in-law, Kristen Powers (wife of James Jr.), into the family with love and pride, and she was the proud grandmother of Ava and Jack.
Maureen enjoyed an illustrious career in real estate as the owner of Four Seasons Realtors, where she successfully managed three offices in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her generosity, warmth, and strength of character.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Johanna; her brothers, Charles and James; and her sister, Patricia Keelan. She is survived by her sister Kathy Gilgenbach and her husband, Jim; her brother Michael Higgins and his wife, Bonnie; her children, Jamie Powers and James Powers Jr. (wife Kristen); her grandchildren, Ava and Jack; and many nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Hobe Sound, Florida. Interment will follow at Mariner Sands Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to House of Hope in Stuart, Florida.
