Obituary of Maureen E. Starr
Maureen E. Starr, 79 years, of Laurel Springs, passed away on August 25, 2022.
Maureen was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where she met her husband, Gerald Starr. Proud New Yorkers, they began their family in Brooklyn. Early in their marriage, Jerry's job brought the young family and Nanny to Stratford, NJ where the family continued to grow. Never one to sit idle, Maureen participated in her community and had lots of hobbies. In particular, she enjoyed her presidency of the women's auxiliary and volunteering her time to the Stratford Falcons Football Club. She loved the arts and enjoyed doing craft projects, restorations, decorating and ceramics. She was an avid painter sharing her art with her children. She loved to dance and would frequent the Coastline for "Friday Dance Night to the Oldies."
Throughout her life, Maureen had several careers; but was especially fond of her loan officer position at PNC Bank from which she retired. Without a doubt her life's joy and greatest pleasure was spending time with her large family.
Maureen is survived by her brother John Loucks (Laurel Springs), her sister Dawn McCready (Lindenwold); her children Suzanne Starr-Zuber (Jeffery) Stratford; Liza Brisbin (Chuck), Laurel Springs; Reuben Starr (Janice), Laurel Springs; and Dayna Starr (Voorhees); her grandchildren Gheri, Mackenzy, Carl, Lauren, Shawn, Tarah, Justin, Addam, Eric, Ashley, Kelsey, Kamryn and Brooke; and her great grandchildren Jordan, Serena, Jamison, Sophia, Tatum, Tessa Leo and Hendrix.
She is predeceased by her Mother, Lillian (Nanny); her Father Edward Robinson, her brother Robert Robinson, her sister Dolores Carbonaro; her husband Gerald Starr and her grandson Timothy Starr.
A memorial tribute and celebration of life will be held on September 16, 2022 at the Somerdale VFW Hall (10 Kennedy Blvd., Somerdale, NJ 08083) from 4:30-6:00PM. Immediately following the tribute, friends and family are invited to stay for refreshments and dinner at 6:00 PM. Arrangements under the direction of COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W.
