Maureen Elizabeth Walker died peacefully on February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Maureen was born in
Detroit, Michigan on February 2, 1936, to the late Kenneth and Roadina (nee Cahill) Sheedy. She grew up in Detroit with her siblings Phyllis, Audrey, and Keith. In 1958 she married James Dean Walker and had four children: Teri, Kevin, Mary and Cindy. She devoted her life to her husband and raising their family and was the nucleus that gave their home love, structure, and stability. Once she became an empty nester, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, cruising, and volunteering at the hospital. She was delighted to become Grandma and loved spending a great deal of time with her grandchildren. When her great grandchildren began to arrive, her immense love and joy multiplied. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and loved each one in a very personal way with her whole heart.
When the time came to retire her golf clubs and bowling ball, she continued volunteering for many years until Covid brought that to an end. Maureen spent 61 years married to the love of her life until his passing in 2019. She is survived by children Teri and Mike LaLone, Kevin and Jo Walker, Mary and Don Ward, and Cindy and Jon Arntz. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelly (John) Phillips, Shannon (Ryan) Wolf, Michael (Nicolie) LaLone, Sean (Hayley) Murray, James (Marcy) Walker, Maureen (James) LaQuiere, Hannah Arntz, Katy (Chad) Krueger, Jonathan (Rebekah) Arntz, Megan Walker, Julia (Josiah) Krueger, Ruth (Seth) Krueger, Angela (Jeff) Krueger, Daniel Arntz, Jason Arntz, and April Ward (Andy Kirch).
