Maureen Ziomek, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A loving mother of two sons, John and Chris, Maureen's greatest joy in life was raising her boys and spending time with them whenever she could. She shared her life with her devoted husband, John, whose partnership and love carried her through every chapter.

Born into a big, lively family, Maureen was one of seven siblings, a role that helped shape her generous heart and her lifelong instinct to care for others. She had a gift for making everyone feel instantly welcomed. All of her sons' friends felt like her own children, and many would say she was a mother to them as well. Her home, and her heart, were always open.

Maureen found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. She loved Christmas, always making the season feel magical and full of warmth. She cherished the beach, where she found peace, light, and the soothing rhythm of the waves. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her boys, whose happiness meant everything to her.

Maureen was a fighter through and through, meeting 22 years of cancer with unwavering determination, courage, and hope. One of her greatest victories was living long enough to see her son's wedding, a moment she cherished deeply.

We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with Bailey, her beloved parents, and other family members who passed before her. The thought of her surrounded by those she loved brings peace to all who mourn her.

Maureen will be remembered for her courage, her warmth, and the way she made everyone feel cared for. She will be deeply missed.

Family will receive friends Wednesday November 19th from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Thursday gathering 9:00am at the funeral home for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Lyndhurst. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
