Maurice E. Olivier

Dover - Maurice E. Olivier, known by all as Moe, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024 after a brief but sudden illness.
Born on December 30, 1942, in Berlin, New Hampshire, Moe was the son of the late Laurier and Florence (Dussault) Olivier. On June 18, 1966 he married Leona (Martin) Olivier in Berlin.
He was passionate about adult education and after receiving his doctorate degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, he was one of the founding members of the School for Lifelong Learning, part of the University System of New Hampshire that offered innovative degree programs to non-traditional adult learners.
Later in life he brought his passion for education to the business world when he founded the Academy for Corporate Excellence, a corporate education and consulting practice that he ran for over 20 years; 13 of which with his son Bryan by his side.
He was actively involved in youth and high school hockey supporting his boys through coaching and various board positions. He loved silly movies like The Pink Panther, Smokey and the Bandit, and It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World and he shared that love with his children and grandchildren. He loved music of all kinds, but was particularly passionate about drum corps.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Olivier; children, Bryan Olivier and wife, Mary, of Durham, and Mark Olivier and wife, Brenda, of Center Conway; five grandchildren: Christoper, Laura, Emily, Trevor and Colby; a sister, Jeannette Healy and husband, Tom, of Raymond; niece Lori Smith and nephew Kevin Matson; a half-brother Dan Olivier and wife, Karen, of Lancaster.
Friends and family are called to visit on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 5 PM – 7 PM at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave, Dover, NH 03820. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Church, 150 Central Ave, Dover, NH, with burial to follow at St. Mary New Cemetery in Dover.
Moe's mother passed away from breast cancer when he was just 14, so in lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his name to one of the many breast cancer charities, such as; Susan G Koman Foundation or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
