John McGinley Obituary

DOVER, N.H. - John W. McGinley, 91, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025.

He was born in Philipsburg on Aug. 23, 1933 to Thomas and Ida McGinley.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou (Williams); daughter, Brenda Fritz of Gilmanton, N.H.; and son, Kevin (Sherri) of Seabrook, N.H.; grandchildren, Jill Fritz of Hayden, Colo., Dr. Jared McGinley of Ames, Iowa, Maryn and Matthew McGinley of Seabrook, N.H.; one great-grandson, Jackson Fritz.

John was predeceased by granddaughter Elyse Marie McGinley and followed closely in death by granddaughter, Kylie Fritz.

He retired from the Air Force after serving 20 years and went on to serve 16 years at the Portsmouth Navy Ship Yard retiring in 1995.

John was a member of the American Legion, BPOE, and the Sampson AFB Retiree Association.

He enjoyed reading Western books, listening to Country music and playing cards with neighbors in Florida. He also enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren until they began winning.
