Lawrence- Mauricio Navas Castro passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, following a courageous short battle with cancer. He was a father and grandfather whose life was shaped by perseverance, humility, and the experiences that formed him. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments.
Born in El Salvador, Mauricio carried his heritage with pride throughout his life. A practicing Catholic, his faith was a steady guide in his life. For over 20 years, he worked as a skilled machinist, a profession that reflected his dedication, precision, and strong work ethic. He resided in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he built his life and community.
Mauricio is survived by his two children, Jennifer and Alexander; his son-in-law, David; his two grandchildren, Leo and Ivan; his former wife, Maria Teresa; and his four sisters, Flor, Katy, Marleni, and Daysi. He is also remembered by extended family and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, services will be simple and private. Mauricio will be remembered not only for his quiet strength and resilience, but also for his ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone he met. He taught through example, inspired through dedication, and showed that even in the face of challenges, life can be met with courage and grace. Though his battle with cancer was difficult, he faced it with courage and grace, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and quiet dignity. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, inspiring all who knew him to cherish life, love deeply, and hold family close.
May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
