In Loving Memory of Maverick Isaac Johnson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Maverick, who left us too soon at the tender age of 2 ½ years. Born with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CDLS), he brought joy and light into our lives in ways we could never have imagined.
Maverick was a vibrant little boy, full of energy and curiosity. He had a unique charm, with six fingers on each hand, long lush eyelashes and copper hair made for spiking that made him even more special. His laughter was infectious, and his love for music filled our home with happiness. Just before he passed, he began to explore the joy of singing, filling our hearts with sweet sounds that we will forever cherish.
He had a special way of connecting with the world around him. Often, he would gaze at the stars, holding up his little hand as if measuring them. His excitement was palpable whenever his mom and dad came home, and he shared his joy with everyone, including his beloved nurses.
Maverick found comfort in the simplest pleasures-he adored foot massages in the bathtub and loved to playfully put his feet on everything he could find mostly his suction machine was a source of delight, or he would seek out his mom to place his feet on her, sharing moments of love and connection.
Though his time with us was brief, Maverick taught us the true meaning of joy, love, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
Maverick is survived by his parents Phillip and Cassandra, his siblings: Brayden, McKenna and Adriana, his grandparents Dave & Kathy Wasden, and Darrin Johnson and Rose Starnes.
A celebration of Maverick's life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 2:30 PM in the Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 W Hill Rd, Boise, ID 83714
