Max R. Bruss, 85, of Ocala, Florida passed away on August 18th, 2024 in Ocala, Florida.
Max was born in State College, Pennsylvania to Mahlon and Blanche Bruss on June 12th, 1939. He graduated from State College High School in 1957.
He earned a degree in laboratory sciences and went on to earn a degree with The Association of Physicians Assistants. He worked at Munroe Regional Hospital for 25 years as a Lab Tech and was later promoted to administration. After leaving Munroe, he moved on to RoTech Oxygen & Medical Equipment for 10 Years.
Max is survived by his wife Della Bruss of Ocala, FL., Daughters and Spouses Leigh & Jack Kuhn of Frankfort, KY, and Lou Anne & Bob O'Donnell of Kennesaw, GA.; Brother Gene Bruss and Wife Deb Bruss, Sisters Betty & Husband Tom Baker and Norma Bayer; Nephews & Nieces: Zach Bruss, Jordan Bruss, Elise Dumas, Lori McConnell, Betsy, Terri, Tommy and Cheri; Grandchildren: Chris O'Donnell, Ryan O'Donnell, Sean O'Donnell, Justin Kuhn, and Brent Kuhn; Great grandchildren: Grayson Kuhn, Eleanor Kuhn, Christopher O'Donnell, CJ Marshall. He was preceded in death by his son Marc Bruss.
Funeral service will be held at Olivet Baptist Church, 8495 South Magnolia Ave., Ocala, FL on August 30th at 10AM with Pastor Mike Davis.
Max had a servant's heart and was very involved with the Jaycees, Kiwanis, Lions Club, and had dedicated 30 years to VOSH Southeast. Max worked with VOSH Southeast as Vice President of Operations, overseeing the logistics of eyeglasses & optical equipment to third world countries for eyecare mission trips. He has always believed in working for a cause greater than himself. His work with VOSH along with many volunteers has helped to place eyeglasses on thousands of needy people.
