Max Perez, a cherished soul known for his friendly demeanor and unwavering dedication to his family, left us on November 2, 2025, in Altha, Florida. Born on June 10, 1959, in Beeville, Texas, Max's journey was one marked by love, hard work, and an infectious zest for life that touched everyone he met.
Max's formative years were spent under the warm sun of South Florida, where he quickly established himself as a hardworking individual. He dove into the agricultural industry with a passion that was as deep as the roots he tended to. He began his career as a proud farm worker, his diligence and commitment seeing him rise to the position of farm manager. Max worked for several farmers in Jackson County and worked for Tim Smith at Southwind Plantation since 2018. He quickly became supervisor over their lawn service at the plantation among many other jobs he held there. It was here that Max's leadership and expertise shone as brightly as the fields he oversaw.
In the midst of his professional ascent, Max found love and companionship with his devoted wife, Tricia Perez. Together they built a life rich in joy and shared moments. Max was a pillar of strength and love for his daughter, Maxey Perez; his sons, Max Perez and his wife Tamika, Judas Suade Perez and his wife Claire, and Thai Perez; and his stepson, Dustin Willis and his wife Tabitha. His family was the core of his existence, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.
Max's legacy is also lovingly remembered by his surviving sister, Sylvia Perez Deleon and her husband Leopoldo, as well as his brothers, Moises Perez and his wife Eufemia and Mauro Perez. His mother-in-law, Hilda Willis, whom he adored as his own mother, will miss his presence dearly. Max's nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and kindness, will remember him as a pillar of strength and love in their lives. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Ace, a constant companion and source of comfort. Max is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito Perez and Sofia Salinas as well as two brothers, Modesto Perez and Raymond Ruiz.
Max was a man of many interests that reflected his zest for life. He was known for his enthusiasm for hog hunting with dogs, a hobby that brought him much joy and excitement. A true conversationalist, Max relished discussions on politics and could often be found debating and discussing the latest developments with friends and family. His love for boxing was equally fervent, and he enjoyed watching a good match on TV whenever he could.
Beyond his family and hobbies, Max's entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a new business venture, Perez and Family Lawn Maintenance. This endeavor was a testament to his ambition and his desire to create something lasting not only for himself but for his family as well.
Max Perez was a man who lived a full, vibrant life. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he spread so freely. Max's friendly spirit, deep love for family, and the joy he found in his many passions are the hallmarks of a life well-lived. Though he has departed from this world, the essence of who he was will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Max's family is thankful to Vitas Hospice for all of their love and support. A special thank you to nurses Emily and Carolyn for everything they did for Max and the family.
A Memorial Service for Max will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM Central Time in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home in
Sneads, Florida with Rev. David Grubbs officiating.
