Max Turner, 88, of Waterloo, and husband of Polly Annette Turner, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by family.
Born in Greenville, TN on May 23, 1937, he was a son of the late Doc and Ella Kate Jackson Turner. A veteran of the Army, Max was a truck driver for 45 years and retired from Walmart after 15 years of Service. He was a Shriner and a Mason with Rossie Walker Lodge #19.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Christine Morrow (Wayne); grandchildren, Bethni May, Christian Stoddard, Austin Morrow, and Nathan Morrow (Carrie); great grandchildren, Kexin, Oryn, Lyla-Breeze, Ember, Marina, Prairie, Rankin, and Dawson; and sisters, Helen Turner and Mable Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at The Kennedy Mortuary.
A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, conducted by Rev. JD Putman with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will be at the home of their daughter in Laurens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hejaz Shriners Hospital at 119 Beverly Rd, Greenville, SC 29609 or online at https://www.shrinersinternational.org/en/chapters/hejaz-Shriners Hospital.
