Max Whittington

Max Whittington, age 83, a resident of Troy, AL died Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Funeral services for Mr. Whittington will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 2pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Waldrop and Reverend Mark Stephens officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Mr. Whittington was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a hardworking man who proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. He also served the lord as a deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church In his free time he loved spending time fishing, working in his garden, spending time on the farm and watching old westerns with his wife Mary and their dog. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary; children: Stephen Whittington (Christy) and Tammy Whittington Jones; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers: Austin Whittington and Larry Whittington (Charlotte); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Ruby Whittington and his brother Acie Whittington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
