Maxie Rae (Hinds)Hotz, 90, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Southpointe Nursing Facility. Maxie was born in Salem, IN. on April 2, 1935, to the late Ralph R. and Maxine L. (Chastain) Hinds. Maxie graduated from Columbus High School. She was employed by Nash Photography studio in Whiteland for over 25 years. Maxie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hotz, sister Ruth Ann Tyler, Son-In-Law Wayne Armour, and parents Ralph and Maxine Hinds. She is survived by her son Mark Hotz of Indianapolis, IN., daughter Cindi (Hotz) Armour of California, Granddaughter Sheria (Armour)Hyde, and Justin Evans, Grandson Brandon Armour, Great Grandchildren Taja, Kailin and Cooper Hyde all of California. A brother Tom and sister-in-law Marilyn of Ocala, Florida. A younger brother Jim and sister-in law Cheryal of Columbus, IN.
Maxie belonged to the Sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Ocala, Florida where she and her husband served as elders. Maxie was a vibrant woman who lived a full life. Maxie loved her family, interior decorating, painting, and shopping of all kinds. A Memorial service will be held at a later date once family can all gather together.
