Interment will follow at Emblem Cemetery with Shane Thompson, Austin Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Caleb Whitney, Neal Adams, and Justin Rodriguez serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Jr., Connor Hokett, and Brenson Tucker. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Ms. Thompson passed away at her home on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Maxine Artense Thompson was born on April 1, 1944 to J.T. and Mildred (Cooper) Edwards. She married Billy Wayne Thompson on June 8, 1961. Maxie worked as a Terminal Manager of Western Commercial Transport for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Maxie is survived by her sons, Jerry Thompson (Sarah) of Pickton, Texas, Ronny Thompson (Tina) of Pickton, Texas, and Elmer Thompson (Terry) of Springtown, Texas; grandchildren, Shane Thompson, Tylar Thompson, Austin Thompson, Rudy Perez, Timmy Perez, Maxie Thompson, Cortney Adams, Brittany Thompson, Tiffany Thompson, Lilly Thompson, and Billy Thompson, Jr.; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jesse Edwards, Robert Edwards, and Phillip Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Mildred Edwards and husband, Billy Wayne Thompson.
