Maxime Vardon Dias Da Costa passed away at the age of 8 on March 5, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. Maxime lost his brave and long battle with cancer, but not without leaving his mark on this world. He was a beloved son, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend who could light up a room with his smile. Best known for his dancing, singing, and extra strong hugs, Mighty Maxime spread joy to everyone he met.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Jenny, and father, Bastien; his maternal grandparents, Ida and Rudy Vardon; paternal grandparents, Nadine Mergault and Gérard Dias Da Costa; his aunt and uncle, Jeffrey and Rachelle Vardon; aunt Clarisse Dias Da Costa; adoring cousins, Alexis and Maddox Vardon; and a host of family, classmates, and friends.
A visitation will be held from 3 – 8 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – THE AHLGRIM CHAPEL. Funeral Mass 10:30 am on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church, 1S314 Summit Avenue, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to either Cal's Angels, 2422 West Main Street Unit 3B, St. Charles, IL 60175, or Bear Necessities, 55 West Wacker Drive, Ste. 1100, Chicago, IL 60601, both pediatric cancer foundations that generously supported Maxime during his battle with cancer.
