Maxine Carlson

Maxine E. Carlson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away in her home on March 11, 2023, at the age of 95. Maxine was born on December 20, 1927, to the parents of Ephrum and Ethel Summers in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She married Vaughn Carlson in 1945 in Tacoma, Washington. They made their home in the area of Quincy and Ephrata, Washington, where they raised their family. She had three daughters Gloria, Linda, and Brenda, and five sons Douglas, Ronald, Brent, Kurt, and Gregory.
Maxine was a homemaker until around 1970 when she started working for the Ephrata School District as a Baker. She mainly worked out of the Ephrata Middle School baking for the school district. She was well known for her baking skills, most famously, her cinnamon rolls. She retired in 1990.
In 2015 she sold the family home in Ephrata, Washington, and moved to Redmond, Oregon, to be closer to two of her sons. She lived in Redmond for four years than moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, to be close to her daughter and enjoy the sunshine year around.
Maxine was preceded by her parents Ephrum and Ethel Summers, two brothers LaMar and Dale Summers, sister Doris Daniels, husband Vaughn Carlson, daughters Gloria Harrington and Brenda Carlson, and son Gregory Carlson. She is survived by her sister Kathleen (David) Anderson, daughter Linda (John) Loomis, sons Douglas Carlson, Ronald (Susi) Carlson, Brent (Gayla) Carlson, Kurt (Heidi Sue) Carlson, 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
Maxine lived own her own until her very last day of her life and was the pillar of her family. She enjoyed the sunshine and many family members visiting her frequently. The family would like to thank all that loved Maxine over her 95 years of life. Her Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
