Maxine T. Diaz passed away on October 6, 2021.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 11, 2021, at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Anthony Neusch officiating. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

She was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 16, 1952, to Esmael Lucero and Margaret Tenorio.

Maxine devoted her life to her three boys and grandchildren. Maxine was known to everyone for her home-cooked meals and always making you feel welcomed when you came through the door. Maxine has the biggest heart and the most infectious laugh. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by, step-grandson, Alexavier Jace Rincon; father, Esmael Lucero; mother, Margaret T. Flores; Stepdad, Elias Perry Flores; sisters, Prestina Barrera, Ginger Barela; and brother Gilbert Lucero.

She is survived by her children, Eric Jason Diaz, James Paul Diaz and wife Aja Diaz, Roy Nathan Diaz and wife Crystal Diaz, and Jacob Miguel Diaz; their father, Roy S. Diaz; her grandchildren, Brooklyn Niomee Diaz, Italy Marisol Diaz, Avery Roy Diaz, Kobe Jamison Diaz, Kaidon James Diaz, James Paul Diaz Jr., and Granddog, Chuy Diaz; her siblings, Sylvia Reynosa, Linda Craig, Esther Kelly, Adolph Flores, Esmael Lucero, Johnny T Lucero, and Ray Flores; her best friend, Irma "Mrs.B" Ballin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
