Maxine R. (Reed) Dupre, age 86, of Fairborn, OH, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1939, in Reedsville, OH, the daughter of the late Alvin and Roxie (Kibble) Reed.
A beloved educator, Maxine dedicated many years of her life to teaching at Fairborn City Schools, where she cultivated a nurturing environment and inspired countless students who fondly remember her warmth and dedication.
Maxine’s academic pursuits led her to earn a bachelor's degree in education from Rio Grande College, now known as the University of Rio Grande, followed by a master’s degree from Wright State University. These achievements were a testament to her commitment to education and her passion for lifelong learning.
A proud member of Byron Church, Maxine found great joy and fulfillment within her faith community. She cherished the bonds created there, fully immersing herself in the life of the church and the friendships that flourished.
Maxine's personality was characterized by her love for family and friends. She took great pleasure in spending quality time with them, with special memories made during family travels, particularly on cruises—an adventure she thoroughly enjoyed with her husband and loved ones. Her interests encompassed board games and card games, activities through which she connected with family, including many nieces, grand nieces and nephews, and grandnephews with whom she maintained lifelong relationships.
Maxine’s life was marked by her proudest accomplishment: a remarkable 64 years of marriage that exemplified love, partnership, and unwavering support. Her legacy is one of kindness, connection, and the impact she made as both a teacher and a cherished family member.
As we remember Maxine R. Dupre, we celebrate her life, her dedication to education, her love for her family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, John E. Dupre; eight siblings, Junior Reed, Morris Reed, Marvin Reed, David Reed, Dohrman Reed, Dennis Reed, Kathleen Smith, Ina Jean Weaver; and extended family. She is survived by two children, Cindy (John) Penza, Alex (Julie) Dupre; two grandchildren, Laura Penza, Jason Penza; two siblings, Robert (Carlotta) Reed, Gary Reed; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A private service will be held by the immediate family.
