Maxine Fredericks, 81, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House on Saturday June 10, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.
She was born February 27, 1942, in Chicago, IL. She lived in Homewood, IL for several years before retiring to Murrells Inlet, SC in 2005.
She loved to laugh and had a wicked sense of humor. An avid foodie, she was never shy to ask for "just a little bite" of whatever anyone else was eating. She loved animals, music, movies, decadent desserts, and a good cocktail, she also liked going to the beach and going on trips. Maxine was strong in her faith, involved and committed to her church. As an only child she created her own extended family of cherished friends who remained with her throughout most of her life's journey while many others she excitedly welcomed along the way.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Jim of Murrells Inlet, SC; her sons, Jason and Chris Zarkovich of Lindenhurst, IL; Darren Zarkovich of Hammond, IN; granddaughters, Sarah and Emily; daughter in law, Cheryl of Australia; son in law, Jimmy of Homewood, IL and many friends to numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Maxine's Life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Church of the Resurrection, 8901 Hwy. 17 Bypass, Surfside Beach, SC.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Father Steven Davis for his pastoral care and attention.
Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet (843.651.1440) is assisting the family.
