Maxine Goering Obituary
Born on June 21, 1938, in El Dorado, Kansas, Maxine was the daughter of Max E. Harris and Martha (Eisenhower) Harris. She graduated from El Dorado High School with the class of '56. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Goering, on August 12, 1956, at the El Dorado Methodist Church. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around love, faith, and family.
Maxine worked for many years as an executive secretary for Raytheon Beechcraft, where she was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit. Outside of work, Maxine's greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished Sunday family dinners, quiet evenings at home, and watching classic movies. A true homebody at heart, she found comfort and happiness in the simple moments shared with the people she loved most.
Maxine will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle heart, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and togetherness will continue to live on through all who knew her.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Ken Goering, of El Dorado; her children, Randall Max Goering (Angela), of Kansas City, Kendra Deann Goering, of Wichita, and Jolyn Renae Reed (Jason), of Andover; her grandchildren, Timothy (Carley), Victoria, Isabell, Justin, Jordan, and Jacob (Grace); her sister, Karla House, of Oklahoma; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in passing by her parents and her great-grandson, Dean Michael.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at Carlson Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, at Carlson Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Maxine will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorial donations in her name may be directed towards Harry Hynes Hospice.
