Maxine M. Law

FINE – Maxine M. Law, age 80, passed away on August 11, 2024 at Sunset Nursing and Rehab Center in Boonville.
Maxine was born on January 18, 1944 in DeGrasse to the late Gerald and Leaphia (Hamilton) Spicer. She attended school in DeGrasse and graduated from Knox Memorial School in Russell.
Maxine worked as a fulltime live-in nanny for area children. She later worked in the kitchen of the Clifton-Fine Central School and as a housekeeper for the Clifton-Fine Hospital.
She married Percy Law in their home in Fine on July 31, 1971. Maxine enjoyed caning chairs and working on antiques, fishing and crocheting.
Her survivors include her husband, Percy; her son, Jeffrey Law, her daughter, Cheri Kelley, and her step-children, David Law, Frederick Law, Steven Law, Joanne Law and Laurie Spicer. She is also survived by a brother, Gary Spicer; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a step-daughter, Linda Parmeter; five brothers, Karl, Morris, Gene, Merle and Morley Spicer; and three sisters, Norma Jean Spicer and twin girls who died shortly after birth.
