Maxine Myers passed away surrounded by family on March 18, 2022. She was born September 2, 1921, in Marquand, MO, to Volentine and Julia (Dunlap) Mouser. She married Bert Robert Myers on April 24, 1937.
This 100-year-old woman lived a full and active life and maintained her home and driver's license until the age of 97, when she left Marquand for her daughter's home in Georgia. She maintained contact with many members of the Marquand community. She left Marquand physically, but she never really left Marquand.
Maxine was a member of the Marquand Baptist Church and served as Treasurer for many years. She was a devoted member of her church and enjoyed participating in the various activities of the church and community where she enjoyed getting hugs from everyone. All conversations with her involved the weather and any other events taking place in Marquand as she spoke weekly with her friends. She loved children and obviously adored all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, an infant son, brother Arthur Mouser and half-brother Archie Mouser, sister Roberta (Ruby) White, half-sisters Georgie Mills, Myrtle Miller, Ruby Mouser and grandson Larry Lee Masters. She is survived by daughter Carolyn (Floyd "Tink") Masters, son Robert (Kathleen) Myers; granddaughter-in-law Susan (Oberlin) Masters, grandsons Chris Myers (Melanie) and Brett Myers (Heather); greatgrandchildren, Shelley (Chad) Masters Fallows and Ryan(Katy) Masters, Allen, Landon and Wilson Myers; great-greatgrandchildren; Kailyn, Aubrey, Hudson and Lainey Fallows and Wyatt and Corbin Masters and several nephews and nieces.
