Maxine Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Niles on Dec. 30, 2025.
Maxine "Charley" P. Perry, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Niles, Michigan.
Charley was born on June 16, 1955 in Niles, Michigan to the late Frank Albert Perry and Regina Ericka (Fisher) Campbell.
Along with her parents, Charley was preceded in death by her sisters, Frankie Perry and Virginia Benson.
Left to cherish the memory of Charley is her loving spouse of 33 years, Elvis O'Neill; children, Miranda Barger, Sarah Atwood, and T.J Williams; five grandchildren, and sister, Marsha Lewis.
Charley will be remembered for her love of quiet moments and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. She felt most at home outdoors, whether she was fishing by the water, wandering through the woods mushroom hunting, or enjoying the stillness of nature. When indoors, she could often be found with a good book, happily losing herself in stories and learning something new.
Charley had a special fondness for cats and was a devoted and caring cat lover throughout her life. Her cats were more than pets-they were family, constant companions who brought her comfort and joy. She had a patient, kind heart, and her affection for animals reflected the gentleness she carried with her every day.
Those who knew Charley will remember her as thoughtful, curious, and content with life's quieter moments. Her love for nature, reading, and animals leaves behind a legacy of warmth and simplicity that will not be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
In keeping with Charley's wishes, she will be laid to rest privately at Franklin Cemetery, 8064 Brush Lake Road, Berrien Center, Michigan 49102.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
