Maxine Schimp

Maxine Schimp, 83, of Eldorado, passed away on, Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the Villas of HollyBrook in Harrisburg.
Maxine was born in Eldorado on December 28, 1940 to the late Everett and Mary (Roberts) Downey. She attended church at Little Chapel Church in Harrisburg earlier in age and then became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church with her husband Lindell and she was a member of the Eldorado Garden Study Club. She owned and operated Lad and Lassie in Eldorado for many years and she was a nail tech at her home, Maxine loved cooking for and being with her family, spending time with them at the lake and ballroom dancing, traveling and playing bridge with friends
On May 17, 1958 she married Lindell Schimp and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2014. She is survived by her two sons, Chris (Jan) Schimp of Eldorado and Alex Schimp and Tina Bunney of Castle Pines, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Dustin Schimp of Nashville, TN, Liza (Michael) King of Eldorado, Ryan (Megan) Schimp of Norris City, Luke (Nicole) Schimp of Equality, Gabe (Brooke) Schimp of Eldorado and, fifteen great grandchildren, Presli, Peyton, Deacon, Nate, Nora, Logan, Lane, Bailey, Madison, Caseton, McKenzie, Missouri, Alabama, Kolin, and Emma and a sister Donna Bradley of Eldorado. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, a brother, Joel Downey and a sister Velma Barger.
Funeral services for Maxine will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado at 11:00 AM with Rev Jeff Rush officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM
