RENSSELAER FALLS - A visitation for Maynard V. Ashley, 64, of Rensselaer Falls, will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. Mr. Ashley died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, January 19, 2026.

Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home.

Maynard V. Ashley was born on July 8, 1961, in Ogdensburg, the son of the late Clarence and Judith (Baker) Ashley. He was a 1979 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and worked for the New York State Department of Corrections throughout his career until his retirement. Maynard was an avid hunter, trapper, and golfer, and he also enjoyed playing cards and watching football and baseball.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Diamond and her husband, Jason of Ogdensburg; his sisters, Sandra McCarthy and her husband David of Ogdensburg, Stacie Demers and her husband Chris of Ogdensburg, and Sarah Ashley of Ogdensburg; his grandchildren, Talan Ashley and Jaycie-Rae Ashley; and his great-granddaughter, Bexleigh Ashley. His nephews, Matthew McCarthy, Adam McCarthy, Tanner DeLarge, David Bush, Brayden Demers, and his nieces, Arianne McCarthy, Molly MacKay, Kristen Bush, and Adrian Lalonde, also survive him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Judith Ashley.
