Maynard "Sonny" Boyd, age 76, of Adamsville, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Sonny was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and a heart full of love. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

He is survived by his daughter, Missy Jordan; son, Dwane Boyd (Jennifer); grandchildren, Jessica Garret, Logan Boyd, Abby Piper (Hayden), and Lexi Burt; and great-grandchildren, Maddie Edwards, Paisleigh Piper, and Remy Sue Piper. Sonny also leaves behind his brothers, Ronnie Boyd (Terry) and Denny Boyd (Ermaline); and his sisters, Carol Borders, Debbie Oquinn, Glenda Shipman, and Kim Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Merle Boyd, with whom he shared many wonderful years. He is also following his parents Brady and Ora Boyd.

Sonny had a deep love for nature and animals. He especially enjoyed riding and caring for his horse, Bug Eye. A skilled gardener with a true green thumb, he could grow just about any kind of vegetable and took great pride in the fruits of his labor. Above all, Sonny's greatest joy came from time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored.

He was a faithful member of Brookside Church of God, where he found strength, purpose, and lifelong friendships in his church family.

Services for Sonny will be held at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. All who knew and loved Sonny are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
