M.C. Blackmon, born on August 6, 1935, passed away on January 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by his deep connections to family, faith, and a love for the outdoors. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who dedicated his life to the people and activities that brought him joy.

As a consummate outdoorsman, M.C. enjoyed coon hunting, raising cows, and was known to have sold some of the finest English dogs in the South. His passion for hunting even led him to share experiences with the renowned country singer, George Jones, many years ago. His love for collecting guns and knives further reflected his adventurous spirit. M.C. was an active member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon, embodying the values of service and community.

M.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Snead Blackmon, as well as his brothers, Rex Blackmon and Jerry Blackmon. His absence will be felt profoundly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In remembrance of his enduring spirit, the pallbearers who will carry M.C. on his final journey include Clint Black, Kelly Raney, Jessica Crim, Kevin Crim, Connor Laney, and Carson Laney.
