Lovingly known as "Kenna," "Kenny," or simply "McK"
April 10, 2009 – June 25, 2025
McKenna Brianne Staines, 16 years old, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on June 25, 2025.
Born on April 10, 2009, in Beaverton, Oregon, to Arend Jason and Sheila Marie Staines, McKenna was a true Daddy's Girl, her Mama's best friend, and her little brother's whole world.
Recently completed her sophomore year in high school, McKenna had a passion for forensic science, reading, acting, drama, and modeling. She was a kind, fun-loving free spirit-an empathetic introvert who was never afraid to be exactly who she was. She loved the color purple and anything to do with Winnie the Pooh.
McKenna enjoyed traveling and camping with family, most recently visiting Tombstone, Arizona and Glacier, Montana. She loved the beach and riding her quad on the dunes. She and her little brother, Jarrett, shared a special bond-playing Roblox, teasing each other, and being constant companions. She treasured day trips with cousins and baking with her grandma.
Music was everything to McKenna. It brought her joy, inspiration, and a sense of identity. Her favorite bands included Bullet for My Valentine, Nirvana, and Pantera. She was often seen with headphones on-or at least around her neck. She was learning to play guitar and loved writing her own music. Going to live concerts brought her happiness and excitement.
Creative and expressive, McKenna adored cosplay and attending Comic-Cons with friends. It was her outlet-where she felt most free to be herself. She loved being in front of the camera, making videos, hanging out at the mall, visiting the park, or spending time at the Vancouver waterfront.
And no one loved Halloween more than McKenna-especially watching her mom jump during scary movies and chasing the thrill of a good adrenaline rush.
McKenna's memory will forever be cherished by her little brother, Jarrett Preston; her parents, Arend and Sheila Staines; her grandparents, Cindy and Steve Pasqualetto, Brian Staines, Marylou Moore, and Leo and Shawn Moore; and her beloved pets Dixie, Molly, and Mittens.
She was deeply loved and wanted. She will forever be in our hearts.

Another one of my beautiful cousin's that I didn't know that well, Sadly most of the younger generations I don't know. From what has been said here you were a very sweet and wonderful young lady. I wish I had gotten to know you as you obviously were very special. You will be missed and hopefully time will heal the pain your family is feeling over your loss. i loved the picture now when ever I see a beautiful butterfly I will remember you and your beautiful smile.
