Mee Lo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes & Memorial Park on May 21, 2025.
Mee Vang Lo was born on October 16, 1950, in Laos to her parents, Pa Cha Vang and Lia Lo. The eldest of nine siblings (six girls and three boys), Mee carried the responsibilities of her birth order with strength and grace throughout her life. She passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mee is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Chua Va Lo; her ten beloved children: Kao Chue Lo, Kao Mao Lo, Fong Lo, Mary Lo Thomas, David Lo, Bee Jay Lo, Keras Lo, Ying Lo-Khang, Joseph Lo, and Yee Lo; and her 21 cherished grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three of her children: Va Neng, Mai Der, and Pheng.
Mee and her husband made Sacramento, California their home for the past 34 years. As a Hmong American refugee, Mee's life was a testament to resilience and hope. Although she did not have the opportunity to pursue a formal education, she firmly believed in its power and worked tirelessly to ensure her children had every chance to succeed. Through her unwavering support and love, her children have gone on to become teachers, social workers, pharmacists, and medical doctors.
As a mother of ten, Mee had a remarkable ability to make each of her children feel uniquely loved and understood. Her love extended equally to her grandchildren, with whom she shared a deep and joyful bond.
Mee will be remembered for her courage, resilience, and kindness. She had a gift for making others feel seen and welcomed. Whether greeting someone new or tending to her garden, she approached life with humility, warmth, and grace.
She found joy in Hmong paj ntaub (traditional embroidery), gardening, and watching Hmong dramas.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a woman of great faith.
A celebration of her life will be held on June 6–7, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and perseverance that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
