Mee Xiong

Mee, more commonly known as Mollie, passed away on April 17th, 2023. She took her final breath at home, surrounded by her family. She was 39 years old.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the Fall of 2020 and spent her last 3 years fighting her battle with cancer. She was a true warrior and fought bravely. Her motivation to keep fighting was her children. She wanted to be around to see her kids grow up.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 16th, 1983. Although, Mollie was the eldest of 8, she was the smallest. She only stood about 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 80 pounds. Mollie had a love of writing and listening to music. She also enjoyed doing household chores as a teenager. She'll be remembered as the sibling who could spend hours talking on the phone in her youth.
She had a strong work ethic. She started working at McDonald's when she was 16 and never stopped working. She continued to work throughout the 3 years that she fought her battle with cancer. She endured 3 rounds of chemotherapy and 38 sessions of radiation. She also underwent an operation in 2022 after her first round of chemotherapy to remove what was left of her breast cancer.
After spending the majority of her life in Minnesota, Mollie and her husband made the decision to move to California in 2013. They wanted to be closer to his parents and siblings. She spent her last 10 years living in California.
When her family visited her in the hospital the week before she passed, she told them that she would be fine. She shared that she was going to continue to fight. Mollie reassured her sisters that she would survive this, just like the way she did when the breast cancer spread to her neck and lower back.
That week she also talked about her plans to go back to work the following Monday. But she never got that chance. After she spent 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital, the doctor announced that there was nothing they could do to save her. At that point her right lung was no longer functioning, and her left lung was filled with fluid. She was also hooked up to an oxygen tank to help her breathe. She spent her days in bed and only using a wheelchair when she had to get around. Her last days were spent sleeping to help her escape all the pain she was trying to manage.
Mollie will be remembered for her kindness and generosity which was evident through her constant love, dedication to and support of small businesses, coworkers and family members.
She will be thought of often and deeply missed by her 5 children, her husband, siblings, parents and her friends.
May those who miss her find peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering.
Mollie's service will be on June 3 and 4th at Saddleback Chapel on 220 E. Main Street in
Tustin, California.
