Melanie A. Tavares

Melanie A. Tavares 49, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2025, Born in Providence she was the daughter of Maria (Furtado) Tavares and the late Manuel Tavares.
Melanie was a pillar of strength. Gentle and loving. A radiant soul who brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. A mom to all in need, and a person sought after for comfort. She was a CNA for 15 years and would often take home anyone who didn't have a family to spend the holidays with. She made an impact on anyone she came in contact with. She was known for her love of R&B, blasting her music and singing like no one could hear her. Her laugh and smile were infectious. She was light to anyone in a dark place and will always be remembered as such.
Besides her mother she is survived by her loving children, Carissa Tavares, Vanessa Tavares, Robert Tavares, and Bryan Carreiro Jr., her adorning grandsons Tyler Tavares, and Brandon Dwyer Jr. She was the sister of Melissa Borges, and Christine Rose.
Her visitation will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Carpenter Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Her services and burial will be private. Please visit www.carpenterjenks.com for online condolences.
