Peter A. DeFazzio, Sr., 72, of West Warwick, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Eleanor Slater Hospital in Pascoag, RI. He was the loving husband of Sally Jean (Peckham) DeFazzio, with whom he shared 33 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed countless memories traveling, celebrating life, and spending time with family and friends.

Born in Providence, RI, on September 4, 1953, Peter was the son of the late Anthony and Viola (Stabile) DeFazzio. He was a proud graduate of Classical High School, Class of 1971, and shortly thereafter began his career as a commercial pressman. Peter's dedication and work ethic led to a successful career in printing until his retirement in 2014.

Peter was an avid sports fan, most especially of the New York Yankees. He loved the outdoors-whether fishing, boating, or golfing-and particularly enjoyed the family golf tournaments that took place on birthdays, always followed by a celebratory cookout. A true animal lover, he shared his home with many dogs over the years, who brought him endless joy.

Peter will be remembered for his kind heart and his straightforward way of living-treating others with the same respect he wished to receive.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sally; his stepchildren, Sean Manwaring and his wife Michelle, and Elizabeth Clark; his sister, Lorraine DeFazzio; and fourteen beloved grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Roy.

Relatives and friends are welcome to participate in Celebrating Peter's Life on Tuesday, September 30 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 E. Greenwich Avenue; with a gathering at 2:00 p.m. and Words of Remembrance at 2:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. concluding with a Catholic Prayer Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Rhode Island SPCA, honoring his love for children and animals.
