John Lemieux Obituary

John C. Lemieux, 76, of West Warwick, passed away at home with family by his side on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Roland and Rita (Breen) Lemieux. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane (Fernandes) Lemieux, who passed away in 2010.

John earned his bachelor's degree in Business from Johnson & Wales University and built a successful career as a quality assurance engineer, working across several industries, primarily in manufacturing and technology. A proud Vietnam War veteran, he will be remembered for his dedication, strength, and work ethic.

John had a passion for life and a wide range of interests. He loved traveling, watching John Wayne classics and other old movies, and was a devoted New York Giants fan. He enjoyed the friendly competition of his fantasy baseball league, trips to Foxwoods, and playing cribbage and high-low jack. John was very athletic and especially loved playing golf until age and health challenges prevented him from doing so. A lover of history, he was particularly fascinated by military forts and war history.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lemieux of West Warwick; his brother, David Lemieux and his wife Patricia; his niece, Jennifer Lemieux; his nephews, Derek Lemieux and Ronald Pacheco; and his loving companion of 22 years, Joyce Boyd, with whom he shared many cherished memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home in West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Hasbro Children's Hospital, Providence, RI.
